Details of the event/activity
The webinar I attended entitled, “Coding
Together with Swift” a Free Webinar held at October 6, 2022. This was hosted by
the Gordon College, Collage of Computer Studies, The speaker of the webinar is
Mr. Carven Mark Viado. Organized by his team Scripted a group of BSIT Students
of Gordon College. Mr. Carven Viado is also a licensed Teacher teaching TVL or

Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
This webinar has a interesting
subject, pertaining to Cybersecurity and Data Privacy. As most of us utilize
the internet and technologies such as computers and smartphones, it is important
to know that we are not invulnerable to cyberattacks and from data breach.
As discussed by Mr. Carven, The web
had evolved to such extent that security of data against data breach is more
likely as technology is everywhere. He compared that Web version 1.0 is like
how in a classroom, data is dictated and teaching is done from teacher to
student, more likely ignoring technology itself. But buy now we can categorize schools’
adaptation to technologies as Web version 3.0, as Technology can be seen
everywhere, data or information is socially constructed and reinvented as more
opinion and research on the matters are now easily access by technology
allowing people to contribute to it, and most teaching methods toady are with
the used of technology and used by the society. Which is why its important to
be aware about how secured our data and security online and with just the
computers we used.
This along with tons of
information are essentially vulnerable to data breach, and of course our social
media accounts, post, and chats are also vulnerable to attackers, notedly
hackers. One of the effecting things we could do to be secured in our online
environment is to have 2-way authentication security, and also avoiding chainmail’s
and spams by clicking on it. We are also advised to check what we are
downloading if its secure or malicious as it may contain malware or harmful
virus that would compromise our system in which our computers
In application, to me data privacy
is important to know and to be thought to people as awareness lacks to most
people about the dangers that lurks on the internets. Information leading to personal
things and credentials are important to be protected. That is why I always used
VPN’s and 2-way authentications when I’m browsing and signing in to sites, so I
can have peace of mind in using technologies we have todays, and security to my
information online.

Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a
practical level (practical application of learnings)
As for me, learning about
how important Cybersecurity and Data Privacy is. It’s an advantage certainly to
me as I always used the web for my work, studies and to my personal life,
Awareness and spreading the word to people would help lessen the victims of
these breaches and malicious attacks. Having a sense of security is a goal most
people would want. That’s why I’ll implement what I had learned to how I used
my credentials online or in social media. And since establishing myself as an
artist, I want to avoid my artworks from people that steals content and owning
it as their own. Since then, all my social media platforms are now with 2-way
authentication and my email now block spams and other chainmail related email
accounts.
IV.
Positive feedback (on the event organization)
This webinar is worth my
time as it encouraged me to secure my credentials, knowing security risk and
the wide development of technology that influence how society utilizes its uses
had brought to such risk. I was thankful to be reminded about the importance of
security, I almost take it for granted. Hopefully they tackle more topics about
it in the future about Copyright and piracy. Great webinar all in all.
V.
Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities
I
would want more topics from team Scripted, and also Topics and webinars by Mr.
Carven. They did a good job of tackling certain significant topics about
Cybersecurity and Data privacy. Hopefully they tackle more topics about it in
the future about Copyright and piracy.
